The Future of Thyroid Surgery Comes to Singapore

From 9–12 April 2026, Singapore will host the 6th Asia-Pacific Thyroid Surgery Congress (APTS), held together with the 8th Congress of the Society of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery of Singapore (SOHNSS). This unique event will bring together doctors, scientists, and healthcare professionals from around the world, all focused on one mission: improving the care of patients with thyroid disease.

Before the main meeting, on 8 April, special workshops will showcase the latest techniques — from advanced ultrasound and minimally invasive procedures to new approaches in thyroid surgery using robotics.

Across four days, participants will explore a wide range of topics that affect patients everywhere:

  • How to make thyroid surgery safer
  • New options for patients who cannot undergo traditional surgery
  • Advances in imaging and genetic testing of thyroid cancer
  • Innovative treatments such as ablation of thyroid nodules
  • Global efforts to ensure patients, no matter where they live, have access to high-quality care

This congress is not only a professional gathering — it is also a milestone for patients and the general public. The themes discussed will shape how thyroid disease is diagnosed and treated in the years to come, with the goal of making therapies less invasivemore precise, and more widely available.

I am honored to have been invited as a speaker at this meeting, joining colleagues from across the globe to share knowledge and discuss the future of thyroid care.

Head & Neck Robotics Surgery will be there to learn and share insights from the congress. We believe events like this highlight an important message: thyroid health matters, and innovation in surgery is transforming lives.

If you are interested in thyroid disease, head & neck surgery, or simply in how science and technology are changing medicine, keep an eye on this congress. The future of thyroid care is being written — and Singapore is where the conversation continues in 2026.
